Stereoscopic Displays and Applications conference 3D Survey

"Fixing my Gaze" Book Competition

The Stereoscopic Displays and Applications conference and Basic Books are proud to announce the giveaway of 5 copies of the new book “Fixing My Gaze: A Scientist’s Journey into Seeing in Three Dimensions” by Susan R. Barry (Stereo Sue as Oliver Sacks dubbed her).

    Fixing My Gaze     Susan Barry had been cross-eyed and stereoblind since early infancy - that is until she underwent specialized vision therapy and at the age of 48 she gained stereoscopic vision.  After half a century of perceiving her surroundings as flat and compressed, she now experienced the deliriously novel sense of immersion in a three dimensional world.  “Fixing My Gaze” describes her remarkable journey and celebrates the joyous pleasure of our senses.
The book is available now from many good book retailers.
